Tehran, February 4, 2025– The Fourth Iran Bio Congress and Exhibition has officially commenced at the Olympic Hotel in Tehran, featuring the active participation of Razi Institute alongside numerous prominent figures and organizations in the country's biotechnology sector. According to Razi Institute's public relations, the exhibition showcases 55 companies engaged in the production of biotechnology products. Throughout the event, attendees could participate in seven specialized panels and four educational workshops held in adjacent halls.

A key highlight of the congress was the second seminar on Genes, Cells, and Tissues, which offered continuing education credits for physicians and pharmacists. The global biotechnology industry boasts 150 products, with 40 of them produced in Iran. This sector has achieved significant milestones, including saving the country approximately two billion dollars through the development of biotechnological innovations.

On Wednesday, February 5, Dr. Seyedreza Bani Hashemi, Director of Research and Development at Razi Institute, led a special workshop titled "Introduction to the World of Vaccines: From Research to Approval and Market Entry." During this session, he delved into the processes involved in vaccine research, development, and production, as well as highlight the contributions of Iranian researchers in this field.

In recognition of its significant contributions, Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute was honored as a key supporter of the Fourth Congress and Exhibition of Medical Biotechnology Products in Iran. During the ceremony, Dr. Ali Es-haghi, Director General of Razi Institute, was acknowledged for the institute's effective support and participation in the medical biotechnology arena. The award was presented by Dr. Pir Salehi, Director General of Food and Drug at the Ministry of Health.

Founded in 1924 to combat animal diseases, Razi Institute has played a crucial role over the past century, leveraging the expertise of its specialists to produce vaccines for livestock and poultry while also making significant contributions to the medical field. The institute has developed six medical vaccines, including polio, measles, rubella, mumps, tetanus, and diphtheria, and has achieved important milestones in producing diagnostic kits and antivenoms for snake and scorpion bites. Notably, the world's first intranasal and intramuscular recombinant protein COVID-19 vaccine was developed by researchers at Razi Institute in 2020.

The Iran Bio Congress and Exhibition serves as a vital platform in the biotechnology sector, bringing together knowledge-based companies, specialists, and industry professionals to showcase the latest scientific and technological advancements in the field.
