With more than 90 years of experience, Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute is known as one of the oldest and most reliable scientific and research centers in the country. This institution started its activity in 1303 under the supervision of the Ministry of Welfare and Public Benefits (Ministry of Agriculture at that time) with research on the ways to fight against the ravaging disease of rinderpest, which threatened the livestock of the country by killing hundreds of thousands of cattle. After a short period of time, with the production and supply of an effective vaccine against the said disease, he established a new era of fighting against diseases in the country. Shortly after this success, the work on the production of various vaccines and serums for medical use was put on the agenda of the institute. An important issue is that the era of prosperity and growth and development of the Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute is related to the period after the management of the institute was handed over to local experts in 1329, and fortunately, most of the vaccines and other biological products were produced in these years.
