The Director General of the Razi Institute, spoke at the event about the possibility of producing "recombinant vaccines" and "highly pathogenic avian influenza" in the near future.

According to the public relations report of Razi Institute, Dr Es-haghi stated that the basis of vaccine production in this building is recombinant proteins vaccines and antigens needed for recombinant vaccines as well as new adjuvants called Razi Adjuvant System.

Noting that we need a system for research & development, he added: "Razi Institute's mission is to identify livestock and poultry diseases in the field and to produce vaccine, it is necessary to identify, isolate and purify the pathogen and convert it into seeds for production”. He said: "The stage of antigen development to industrial formulation takes place in this building and all the necessary facilities for research and production of protein-based recombinant vaccines are available in this building.

According to Dr Es-haghi, many parts of this building can be used for the types of vaccines that exist at Razi Institute or will be produced in the future, such as killed bacterial and viral vaccines and toxoid vaccines, and 85-90% of the building has the facilities required for the production of mRNA or RNA vaccines. The next step will be to develop the technology for this type of vaccine on an industrial scale.

He expressed that Razi Institute is ready for the transfer the technology of this type of vaccine, and that even the elite can turn their ideas in the field of other biological products into industrial and commercial products.

Dr. Es-haghi added: Although Razi Institute was established in 1925 with the aim of producing vaccines in the field of livestock, this Institute is known in the world as a producer of medical vaccines and now, in addition to producing vaccines such as polio, diphtheria, tetanus, measles, rubella, mumps and covid-19, it plans to produce other vaccines needed by the country. Currently, it manufactures human, animal and poultry vaccines, but in terms of number of doses, the production of animal and poultry vaccines is more.

Director for Research & Development of Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute while referring to the production of the new generation of recombinant vaccines in Razi   Institute, said: Recombinant vaccines are solution to biological crises.

According to the public relations report of the Razi Institute, Dr Seyed Reza Bani Hashemi said on that the recombinant vaccines site is the industrial scale-up site for research, development and production of vaccines and new adjuvants.

He added: "One of the advantages of this site is that it can easily take all the vaccines that are in the field of recombinant vaccines to industrial scale, and another advantage is that for those with ideas at the laboratory level, this site would help them for scale up stage.

Bani Hashemi continued: At this site, we will be able to bring the recombinant vaccines that are beginning to be produced around the world to the production stage at a faster rate and reach the people who want to receive the vaccine.

Dr Bani Hashemi added: "This site has the first place in the Middle East region in the field of adjuvant production and we are among the 5 companies in the world doing this work and we now have requests from other countries for joint cooperation in terms of joint production. And in this context, there are several products that we hope to be able to bring to the production and export stage in the next few years.

He explained that Razi Institute is known to the regional and global countries due to the fact that we have produced intranasal vaccines during Covid 19 pandemic and continued: we can cooperate with other countries to produce joint products.
