The
message states:
January
6, 1925, marks
a pivotal moment in Iran's public health history with the establishment of Razi
Vaccine and Serum Research Institute. Founded in 1925 amid a series of disease
outbreaks that threatened the nation, this institute has profoundly transformed
health care in Iran over a century, providing essential services and breakthroughs
to Iranians.
The
dedication of the RVSRI's founders and their successors has served as an
inspiring model in the battle against health challenges, alleviating pain and
suffering within the community.
With
its extensive knowledge and experience, Razi Institute has successfully
fostered scientific independence and bolstered biosecurity for both human and
livestock populations, effectively tackling a range of difficult-to-treat
diseases.
As
a center of reliable and basic science, RVSRI has consistently met the nation’s
vaccine needs, producing a variety of vaccines for both livestock and poultry,
as well as seven essential vaccines for humans. Notably, the institute
developed Razi Cov Pars vaccine, recognized as the world’s first
intramuscular-intranasal COVID-19 vaccine, during the coronavirus pandemic, an achievement that has made every Iranian proud.
In
addition to ensuring a self-sufficient health sector, Razi Institute plays a
crucial role in the economy by preventing significant foreign currency outflows
and enhancing non-oil exports through the export of biological products to
regional markets. With the establishment of a research and development center
focused on new recombinant vaccines and a dedicated team of researchers, the
institute is poised to expand its contributions further.
With
gratitude to the organizers of this ceremony, I wish pride and success in
serving our beloved country for the professors, researchers, and hard-working
staff of this institute with a proud scientific background, with further
support from all stakeholders, we look forward to witnessing continued growth
and success in Razi Institute's mission to serve the Iranian people and our
Islamic Country.
