The closing ceremony for the second training course was held at Razi Institute on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. The event was well-attended by experts and trainees from Mauritania, as well as by the deputy directors managers and lecturers of Razi Vaccine Serum and Vaccine Research Institute The focus of the ceremony was the successful conclusion of the two-week course, titled "Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance of Vaccines," which explored themes related to vaccine production and quality control.
In this event, Dr. Rainak Ghaderi, head of scientific collaboration and international relations of Razi Institute, announced the holding of a training course for Mauritanian experts as the second in a series of training courses for experts from African countries and added: The next courses will be held for several countries and experts from western African countries.
He also informed about the enumerating the vaccine requirements and the examination of the capacities and platforms for the export of products and the transfer of technology from the Razi Institute to this country and said: Correspondence in these areas has been prepared with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Livestock of the country of Mauritania, which will be followed up by the visiting experts At Razi Institute, it is hoped to provide a platform for long-term collaboration with this country.
Dr. Ghaderi reminded: In the meetings that we will soon hold with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the continuation of these courses, the initial indicators will be defined for the participants, and the presence of experts from different countries to learn in the training courses of the Razi Institute will be based on those benchmarks.
Introducing the capabilities of Razi Institute to African countries and other interested countries
Also, Dr. Razieh Heidari, the supervisor of this training course, presented the report of this two-week workshop and said: following the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Agriculture-Jahad to Mauritania and the signing of a memorandum of understanding declaring Iran's capability in the field of manufacture and vaccine production, the above training course was designed and planned.
She stated that the delegate team from Mauritania consisted of five experts in different fields of veterinary medicine, added: The titles and content of the course materials were selected in consultation with the managers of the various departments of research, production, quality control and quality assurance of Razi Institute. According to Dr. Heidari this training course started in November 12, 2023 and continued until November 22, 2023.
Dr. Heydari added: This course was held with the focus of the research and technology department and the participation of 27 researchers in different departments and deputies of the Razi Institute as lecturers.
The supervisor of this training course also said: Introduction of Razi Institute's technical and scientific capabilities at the national and international level, development of interaction and cooperation in line with the implementation of common goals with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, promotion of Razi Institute's status in national and international dimensions, compiling a valuable educational collection, strengthening internal organizational motivations, promoting the culture of collective participation and identifying the capabilities of teachers are among the achievements of this training course.
According to her the opportunities resulted by this training course are carrying out joint research on the subject of disease diagnosis, isolation of pathogenic agents and manufacture of vaccines from local strains in African countries and other interested countries, export, transfer of technical knowledge, establishment of sales branches of Razi Institute in these countries, dispatch of institute colleagues for consulting and training and setting up a joint production line in Mauritania or carrying out similar joint programs with other countries.
Mauritian trainees, who gave an engaging powerpoint presentation of their training course at Razi Institute, expressed their heartfelt appreciation for all that the institute has done for them. They emphasized the critical importance of vaccines in their country and expressed their strong desire for Razi Institute to establish a foothold in the Mauritanian market. The trainees promised to do their best to convince their government officials to create new opportunities for Razi Institute, including the export of products and technology, as well as other areas of collaboration.
At the end of this events, educational certificates of participation and appreciation were awarded to Mauritanian experts, and those involved in the establishment of this training course.
