Williams, Technical Officer at WHO; Prof. José María Gutiérrez, a renowned researcher from Costa Rica; Dr. David A. Warrell, a British researcher; Prof. Juan J. From February 10 to 13, 2025, Razi Vaccine & Serum Research Institute participated in the regional research and development meeting of mRNA vaccine and therapeutics development, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO), the event brought together representatives from the Eastern Mediterranean region to discuss the latest advancements in vaccine research and production.
The 9th International Poultry Veterinary Congress, organized and sponsored by Razi Vaccine & Serum Research Institute, began on February 12, 2024, at the Olympic Hotel in Tehran. The opening ceremony featured the head of the Veterinary Organization of Iran, along with numerous professionals and academics from the poultry sector.
Tehran, February 4, 2025– The Fourth Iran Bio Congress and Exhibition has officially commenced at the Olympic Hotel in Tehran, featuring the active participation of Razi Institute alongside numerous prominent figures and organizations in the country's biotechnology sector. According to Razi Institute's public relations, the exhibition showcases 55 companies engaged in the production of biotechnology products. Throughout the event, attendees could participate in seven specialized panels and four educational workshops held in adjacent halls.
On February 4, 2025, a key meeting was held at Payam-e Noor University to discuss potential collaboration between the Razi Institute and COMSTECH (Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation).
Razi Vaccine & Serum Research Institute received the license from the Iran Veterinary Organization (IVO) to begin mass production of its “Bivalent Live Newcastle and Infectious Bronchitis Vaccine (Clone12IR H-120)”. Dr. Shahin Masoudi, Head of the Bronchitis and Encephalomyelitis Vaccines Production laboratory, described this achievement as a major milestone that will reduce reliance on imported vaccines and save foreign currency.
In a significant advancement for agricultural cooperation, Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute participated in the 8th meeting of the Iran-Turkey Strategic Committee, where it signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance collaboration in the research and production of vaccines and the export of biological products for humans, livestock, and poultry. This initiative aims to bolster Iran's position within regional markets.
On Sunday, January 5th, 2025, Razi Institute marked a significant milestone—its 100th anniversary—with a grand ceremony held at the Iran International Conference Center. The event drew a host of esteemed guests, including Dr. Gholamreza Nouri Ghezeljeh, Minister of Agricultural -Jahad; Dr. Gol Mohammadi, Deputy Minister and President of the Agricultural Research, Education, and Extension Organization (AREEO); Dr. Alireza Rafiei Pour, President of the Veterinary Organization (IVO); and Dr. Zahra Behrooz Azar, Vice President for Women and Family Affairs. Also, it is worth mentioning that in attendance were Dr. Alireza Monadi Sefidan, Chairman of the Education, Research, and Technology Commission of Parliament; Hojatoleslam Val-Moslemin Rabbani, Supreme Leader's Representative in the Ministry of Agriculture- Jahad; and Dr. Abbas Shafeie, a prominent scientist and veteran of Razi Institute. The gathering included directors, experts from Razi Institute, and leading figures in the field of vaccine development.
January 6, 2025-During the centenary celebration of Razi Vaccine & Serum Research Institute, the World Health Organization (WHO) representative in Iran, Syed Jaffar Hussain, praised the institute as one of the few global centers capable of producing recombinant and intranasal vaccines.

TEHRAN – On January 5, 2025, as Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute (RVSRI) marked its 100th anniversary, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations extended congratulations to the institute in recognition of its century-long excellence in veterinary science and research. In a video message, Dr. Thanawat Tiensin, Assistant Director General and Director of FAO’s Animal Production and Health Division commended RVSRI for its pivotal contributions to combating livestock diseases and enhancing animal health worldwide.

Geneva, Switzerland – In a significant step toward enhancing international cooperation on biological safety, Razi Institute had a meeting with the Russian research center ARRIAH during the fifth session of the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC). This meeting followed a seminar showcasing ARRIAH's research and educational capabilities, attended by Dr. Nikita Lebedev, head of international affairs at ARRIAH, and coordinated by the Iranian delegation in Geneva.
